Following The Seasons

After years of painting landscapes on site, often traveling some distance, I became curious of what was nearby me. A large Witch Hazel (Hamamelis) grows outside my kitchen. The Witch Hazel changes with the season and produces colorful spiky flowers in the dark of winter. This series of paintings captures the Witch Hazel’s changes, the beginnings, the endings and the repeating cycles.

The following shows include the Following The Seasons paintings and floral etching prints inspired by wildflowers from my hikes and flowers from favorite gardens.

August 2 - September 27, 2025

New paintings and fine art prints on display in the Chapel Gallery of the First Presbyterian Church of Portland, 1200 SW Alder St. Portland, OR. Hours: Sunday 10 AM - 1 PM, and Tuesday - Friday 9:30 AM - 4 PM. Enter Gallery through church office on SW 13th and SW Alder.
Reception: August 2, 11:30 am.
